The Common Leys Open Farm Sunday and Country Fair is back for another year! As well as providing a range of craft stalls, animal handling activities, pony rides, children’s activities, and refreshments, the Royal Horticultural Society and Propeller students will have the opportunity to show off the fruits of their labour, selling a range of flowers, hanging baskets, pick your own vegetables and crafts they’ve produced throughout the year.
This year Fair-goers can also buy seasonal vegetables, milk and milkshakes, and limited stocks of fresh meat from the newly opened Farm Shop! College students are involved in caring for the livestock and taking the animals to the abattoir at Long Compton before the meat is butchered by Hook Norton Butchery. It is then returned to the campus for packing and sale. The horticultural students are involved in growing the vegetables in the high-tech polytunnels and on more than an acre of dedicated gardening space. Milk and milkshakes have been produced locally by North Cotswold Dairy.
The Country Fair will run from 10:30am until 4:00pm on Sunday 11th June. Entry is £7 for adults and £5 for children aged 3 to 16 years, children under 3 go free with a paying adult.
